Fellow Star Wars fans, it’s time to get excited once again as the galaxy far, far away brings us another new Star Wars movie to geek out on. A story fairly separate from the trilogies of past Star Wars awesomeness, ‘Rogue One’ is set after the formation of the Galactic Empire where the Rebel Alliance recruits Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) to work with a team including Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) to steal the design schematics of the Empire’s new super weapon, the Death Star.
This is the first stand-alone Star Wars Anthology film. While it is still set in the much-loved Star Wars universe, it happens some time after the events of ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ and shortly before the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. If you’re a huge Star Wars fan, that should make a lot of sense. If you haven’t seen any of the Star Wars movies or haven’t completed them, don’t worry too much about it as I am pretty sure this movie will be able to hold its own. 🙂
In a nutshell, the story will focus on a group of rebel spies on a mission to steal the Death Star (that big round Star Wars thing you’ve probably at least seen somewhere online :p). The film is produced by Lucas film, directed by Gareth Edwards and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not, this is something I think everyone should get excited about! However, with the holidays on full blast at the moment, you might not to think about the long lines, worry about reservations or deal with jam-packed movie houses.
