This store-slash-restaurant is a breath of fresh air with its beautiful interiors, cozy vibe, and, most importantly, a tasty line-up of Asian dishes, making it the next best thing to a real Asian city food crawl.

Rice Lane Interior

It has a predominantly wooden interior and earth tones that give off a relaxing ambience. They also have a private space for intimate events.

I’ve always found restaurants with open kitchens cool. It’s so nice to watch how food magic is crafted.

I can’t wait to start talking about the food, so here it goes:

Rice Lane catfish salad

Catfish Salad – Php180

Wait. Did you say catfish? And did you just put it in the same sentence as salad?

I was surprised to hear that one of the dishes people love at Rice Lane Asian Market is the Catfish Salad. You can’t deny that it looks yummy, but it tastes even better than it looks.

I’m pretty sure many people aren’t keen on munching on catfish, and that’s pretty understandable. However, you need to give this dish a chance. Introduced by their Thai consultant, this colorful plate of greens and onions, chili, and ground deep-fried catfish meat packs a lot of tang.

Rice Lane curry

Chicken Curry – Php260 for rice topping and Php330 for sharing

When you find yourself in this beautiful nook at Eastwood mall, the number 1 thing you have to do is eat rice (it’s not named Rice Lane Asian Market for nothing) along with a plate of this super delicious Chicken Curry.

It has a nice blend of curry flavor that gives you a slight kick. You can taste its spicy tang but it’s not overwhelming – the kind that will make you sweat, which is perfect for those who are not used to spicy food.

Rice Lane hainanese chicken

Hainanese Chicken – Php395

Take a look at that beauty. Their Hainanese Chicken is everything you could ask for in a chicken dish. First, it’s healthy. Second, it’s damn tasty.

It’s boneless and has a natural flavor. However, if you want to enhance its taste even more, you can dip it into any of the three sauces.

Rice Lane laksa

Laksa – Php250 for solo and Php365 for sharing

This is another bestseller and one you should really try. Their Laksa tastes as great as it looks, I promise.

Made from shrimp broth and laksa paste, which they make from scratch, a serving is big enough for 4 people. It’s spicy, but if you don’t like it that way, you can easily ask the accommodating chefs to make adjustments.

Rice Lane thai iced tea

Authentic Thai Iced Tea – Php130

While waiting for your orders, why don’t you quench your thirst with a glass (or two) of their authentic Thai iced tea?

And when I say authentic, I mean the real deal, not the powdered iced tea. It’s sweet, a little creamy, and, most importantly, delicious.

You’ll love the other refreshments offered at Rice Lane, too. Aside from the fact that they’re yummy, they also come in huge mason jars. Definitely worth your money.
