We all love a good love story. While books and films have a wide selection of great love stories to choose from, we don’t actually have to look that much further for a story that can move us to tears–especially in this day and age. Social media is actually filled with thousands of real-life stories.
Twitter, in particular, holds a huge number of threads from people of all walks of life sharing their life experiences. One thread tells the story of “the one that got away” (TOTGA) and how they still got away even after meeting again several times.

“Missed Moments” is definitely right.
If there’s a story that so greatly encapsulates the meaning of “TOTGA”, this is probably it for me. Reading this story from start to finish actually had me in tears. A few sighs of regret also escaped my lips.
But really, that’s how life can be sometimes. There may be people in our lives who “got away”, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t a purpose for their coming and leaving.
