Not Just PMS: Do You Have Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder?

Most women who experience mood swings on top of physical discomfort, such as bloating, breast tenderness, headaches and muscle pains during their monthly period blame PMS. However, we should not dismiss such symptoms so easily because more often than not, we might be wrong.

Having the correct knowledge about the condition you are currently experiencing means that you can also learn how to handle or even treat it.

A non-profit organization called Gia Allemand Foundation aims to inform the public about PMDD or Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder and how it differs from the common premenstrual syndrome.

“PMDD is a cyclical, hormone-based mood disorder with symptoms arising during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and lasting until the onset of menstrual flow.”, as the foundation shared.
