Rachelle Ann Go dreamed a dream and it became true, as the singer is now engaged to her boyfriend, businessman Martin Spies.
Go herself announced the news on Instagram, where she shared a photo of Spies on his knees, proposing to Go on the beach.
She captioned the photo with “I just prayed for this on my 31st birthday and just like that this happened. What an amazing God we have. Thank you Father God for this man. A man who loves you first. I still cannot believe this!!! Aahhh!”
Spies is a New York-based businessman who is the general manager of a luxury fitness club.
Go started her music career when she won in the TV competition Search for a Star. She has seven multi-platinum albums under her belt, but she became an international theater star in 2014 when she was cast as Gigi van Tranh in the West End revival of Miss Saigon. The following year, she was cast as Les Miserables‘ Fantine, a woman who turns to prostitution so she could provide for her daughter Cosette. Go essayed the role when the musical was staged in Manila.
She has also performed the role of Gigi in the Broadway revival of Miss Saigon. This November, she will take on the role of Elizabeth Schuyler-Hamilton in the West End production of Hamilton.
