QCNA: Kulinarya, Turismo, Talento, At Iba Pa Year 8 is a two-day celebration of culture, arts, and tourism to encourage individuals to promote Quezon City through different activities and competitions.

QC-NA is a pun intended wordplay on QC and Kusina as it mainly promotes food as one of the propelling factors to foster tourism. QCNA was established in 2008 and was institutionalized as an annual event for Quezon City. Over the years, QCNA has prospered with seven (7) successful installations achieving the following goals:

  1. Quality culinary competitions for the participating students and professionals which broadened their knowledge about culinary.
  2. The successful culinary competitions paved the way for internship and employment opportunities.
  3. Recognition of notable individuals and establishments that spearheaded major culinary and tourism projects during the year categorized in a.) Culinary Trendsetters, and b.) Tourism Movers and Shakers.
  4. Promotion of historical sites through informative packaged tours offered to both local and foreign tourists by the Quezon City Tourism Council.

This 2017, QCNA 8 continues to highlight the same objective: celebrating Quezon City’s talents, cultural gems, places, and people. It will hold its festivities from November 25-26, at the Central Plaza, Eastwood City, Libis, championing local tourism and specifically highlighting major players from the food purveyors, restaurants, cafes, hotels, travel agencies, culinary institutes, museums, city libraries and partners from the local city government offices.

On its Gala Night, November 25, 7 PM, QCNA 8 will gather QC-based establishment owners, culinary practitioners, food writers, academes, key players in the culinary and tourism business arena, and local government officials for the Quezon City Tourism Movers and Shakers Awarding. On this evening, eight (8) exceptional men and women will be recognized for their notable contributions and social-economic impact in the culinary and tourism industry. Among its awardees are Vice Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, and City Mayor Hon. Herbert M. Bautista.

Celebrating the hoteliers, restaurateurs, and culinary professionals in the same industry, QCNA will also hold the QC Lifestyle Fashion Show where QC-based establishments and selected students from the QC  will gracefully parade their respective uniforms in the runway.

Being a nation that celebrates Christmas extensively, QCNA delights in holding the Noche Buena Handa sa Pamilya Cooking Competition on November 25, 11:30 AM. Contestants will showcase dishes served in the Filipino family tables during Christmas Eve. Mixed Grilled BBQ, Sauces & Garnishing Competition follows at 2:30PM.
