When in Manila, having business around Quezon City or want to spend a
weekend outside the hustle and bustle of the city check out the newest Microtel by Wyndham in UP Technohub. Â
Being a child of the South, it wasn’t difficult for me to get to UP Technohub.
Once you get to Up Tech itself, you can get a shuttle (in front of BPI) going to Microtel itself.
Actually its very walkable but the sun was too instense!
Microtel by Wyndham opens its latest hotel property at the booming IT and commercial development
of UP-Ayala Land Technohub in Quezon City. This dynamic PEZA-listed area is home to technology and business incubators,
research firms, BPOs, restaurants, and numerous commercial establishments.
First impression: It was very basic. Which wasn’t a bad thing!
The walls were constantly a clean white or gray shade, the hallways smelled like that “hotel” clean smell.
No fuss, no frills. Definitely a good hotel for business, straight to the point.Â
They only had 2 room kinds: The Double and the Suite. The double (seen above) is where I stayed. My favorite part in any hotel would be the beds. I have this back issue from spending a lot of time in front of the computer which work requires and I have a new mattress at home which needs a bit of getting used to so I was really glad their beds were very comfortable. The hotel chain is also famously known for its chiropractor-approved mattresses, rated under American Chiropractic Association standards.
I had my laptop and work stuff with me and was planning to do some work in between my stay.Â
Which I actually did, since they really prioritise the work station to be accommodating to your business needs.
Unlike other business hotels, Microtel UP Technohub had a swimming pool.
Which made it recreational if you have your kids with you during the stay.
I love roof deck pools. You have the bonus of seeing Quezon City eagle-style.
Also, I hate indoor pools. You wouldn’t catch the sun, wouldn’t get a tan, wouldn’t feel the breeze. Â
Â
They also have function rooms available for business meetings and even private gatherings such as debuts or weddings.
A function hall above the restaurant can accommodate 200 people and is perfect for meetings and corporate events,
as well as wedding receptions and social gatherings
Â
We actually witnessed a wedding reception when we stayed here.
It was nice for weddings as well because they had a lush garden to take pictures at.
Â
We had dinner at Millie’s All-day dining, one of only three in the country, serves as the hotel’s official dining facility. Must try are their ribs.
The UP-Ayala Land Technohub was listed as an approved IT Park by PEZA in 2009
and is located across the tree-filled University of the Philippines Diliman campus.
The area is within short distance of numerous government centers, restaurants,
business establishments, shopping malls and specialty hospitals.
We go to tour nearby places in QC and I wrote a separate article about it
You may read it here
We also went and checked out Microtel by Wyndham in Acropolis (which was right across Eastwood)
Located along E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. in front of the vibrant commercial and residential development of Eastwood City,
Microtel by Wyndham Acropolis is within short walking distance from many entertainment, wellness,
and leisure facilities; corporate offices, upscale restaurants, and cafés.
The hotel is also the first Green-certified building in Quezon City,
featuring many environment-friendly features and facilities.
We were told that they recycle their water and have eco-friendly light which is a big A-plus!
The suites were pretty much the same from UP Technohub which is what I really liked about it.
You understand and know what to expect already in all different Microtels across the country.
I really liked their Suite. Which has its own receiving area and small kitchenette.
What I enjoyed the most is their restaurant at Microtel by Wyndham in Acropolis which was Tito Cheff.Â
Their only branch which is located in my neighborhood in BF Homes, Parańaque had already branched out here up North and conveniently in Microtel Acropolis. You have to order their truffle mushroom soup, Kung Pao wanton salad and my favorite Dulce de Leche cheesecake!
So When In Manila, enjoy the no-frills,back-to-basics, quality food and service
of Microtel by Wyndman UP Technohub & Acropolis for a clean, safe,
and secure stay without the unnecessary additions of an expensive room.Â
