Pope Persuades Immediate Action for Youth Unemployment on Year-End Message

WhenInManila - Pope Francis

Pope Francis tackled on his New Year Eve’s message about the growing youth unemployment and he persuaded world leaders to immediately act on it.

According to ABS-CBN News, the 80-year old church leader said doors had to be opened for young people “so that they can be capable of dreaming and fighting for their dreams”.

Apparently, in Italy alone, youth joblessness is at 36%, which is 18% higher in all of the European Union.

When the service ended, the pope walked across St. Peter’s Square to have a quick visit to the life-size nativity set up outside. He stops every once in a while to shake hands and pose for pictures.

On New Year’s Day, the pope will say a Mass to mark the Church’s World Day of Peace.
