It’s tough to be a public figure. You’re under the scrutiny of the masses 24/7. And if you’re the president of a country with more than 100 million people, it’s hard to escape the public eye. You get mobbed by reporters, politicians, and Filipinos, asking for different things. One of those things is a photo op. So how does President Noynoy Aquino do it? Simple. His sister Kris Aquino taught him a trick.

The president revealed this during a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the photo op, he wondered aloud how not to get tired of long photo ops, and mentioned that his sister taught him this:

Bago mag-picture, tumingin ka raw muna sa baba. ‘Wag kang ngumiti. Tapos pagbilang nila ng 1-2-3, saka ka tumingin pataas sabay ngiti. Para fresh na fresh.

(Before the picture is taking, look down. Don’t smile. Then when the photographer counts to three, that’s when you look up and smile so you look fresh.)

He then compared two photos where he does the trick in one and doesn’t do it in the other. We wonder what the difference is.
