PHOTOS: NAIAX Is Now Open, FREE Toll for a Month

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIAX) has opened at the stroke of 12 mignight on Thursday, September 22.

For a month since its opening, toll is FREE on NAIAX.

The Presidential Communications posted photos of the newly opened NAIAX on Facebook.

According to the post:

Secretary Mark Villar of the Department of Public Works and Highways, Philippines leads the opening of the NAIA Expressway Phase 2, on September 22, at exactly 12:01am.

The new elevated expressway connects Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 in Paranaque City, improving traffic flow in the airport vicinity and cutting travel time by at least 60%.

Villar vows completion of the last segment of the P20.45-billion expressway, which will connect NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3 to the South Luzon Expressway, before Christmas Season.

“The Duterte administration is conscious of delivering its promise. We will set deadlines and contractors would have to abide.”

NAIAX is a four-lane, 7.75-kilometer elevated expressway and 2.22-kilometer at-grade road project that costs P17.9 billion to build. It passes through Sales Avenue, Andrews Avenue, Parañaque River, MIAA Road, and Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.
