World Turns On Lights for Paris

After the horrendous terror attack in Paris that took over a hundred lives, the city went dark. The iconic Eiffel Tower turned off its lights in honor of the victims.

On Friday night (France local time), gunmen and suicide bombers stormed the city. They opened fire on innocent citizens at a local restaurant. Explosives were detonated outside the Stade de France where French President Francois Hollande was evacuated.

The worst of the attacks where majority of the deaths took place happened at the Bataclan concert hall. This is just about 200 yards from the former offices of Charlie Hebdo, the site of a January attack against the satirical publication.

Going viral on the Internet is a compilation of photos that shows that the world is one with Paris as different places turn on their lights in France’s colors. Monuments, buildings, and towers from different parts of the globe lit up in blue, white, and red to represent the French flag.
