Comeback kids indeed!
Just when I thought they couldn’t rock as much as they did the last time they were here, I was proven wrong. Yesterday’s show was breathtaking, intense, unbelievable and pretty much every other synonym you could think of. This was Against the Current‘s second time back here in Manila, but the first time headlining their first ever solo world tour.
Check out below the photo diary of the night, with descriptions and comments from the fans – to give you a first hand feel on what it actually felt like being there.
Dedicated fans started falling in line as early as 3pm!
Midnight Meetings opened up the night and quickly got the crowd all hyped up.
They performed their original songs like “Sa Aking Pagpikit” and more.
The crowd sang along to every word during their cover of “Shut up and Dance” by Walk the Moon.
After a 20 minute break interval, it was finally time for the band everyone had been waiting for. The lights dimmed, the fog machines turned on, the crowd cheered in excitement and the band came out and started playing the intro to “Talk”. Seconds later, Chrissy entered and started dancing all over the stage with her energy so high the crowd erupted.
Check out this video snippet of the night with their song “Brighter”.
“I thought I couldn’t go to their concert for the second time around but YES! Thanks to WhenInManila.com, I was able to spend my weekend very well. Singing with ATC live is love. Last night I was able to let my inner fangirl burst.” – Joerella D.P.
“The concert was really sick and rad! I couldn’t ask for more, it was the most unforgettable night ever. The best moment for me was singing and along with Against the Current and the crowd. I felt so happy seeing them perform live and also jumping along the beat of the music with the crowd! I met some Against the Current fans too.” – Kyla O.
Chrissy interacted with the crowd all night. She wore a crown that was given to her from the crowd. However, it didn’t took long for it to fall off from all her headbanging. Someone even threw a bra on stage. And yes, knowing Chrissy, she picked it up and actually wore it!
They sang all their well loved songs from both their new and old EPs. They also did a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s Since U Been Gone.
