Philippine volleyball officials demanded a gender test on Indonesian volleyball player, according to reports.
According to the reports, 23-year-old Aprilia Santini Manganang was singled out because of her appearance and powerful physique, that it was reportedly like “putting a man in a woman’s division”.
A spokesperson of the Philippine delegation confirmed the request for the testing, but the test was not expected to be carried out before the next game in Singapore, according to reports.
This means the Indonesian player will still be allowed to play in spite of the ordered gender test on her.
