Silicon Valley, often called as the “Holy Grail of Innovation,” is a must go to place for startups that hope to disrupt world’s status quo. But getting there and making it there are different stories. If you’ve watched Shark Tank, pitching your ideas and technology to sharks and VCs is a very tough deal. But in the end, clashing with different other companies’ business models and competing for funding are all part of the Silicon Valley spirit.
For Philippines based startups, there’s an open door for you now to have the coveted Silicon Valley experience!
BeFast.TV, a San Francisco/Silicon Valley based online media, is hosting a pitching tournament in town for the first time. The winner will be invited to Silicon Valley to meet investors and accelerators for further opportunities. The event will take place at Pineapple Lab in Makati on 29th of August, Tuesday.
This event is a part of “Your Way 2 Silicon Valley” project, which is initiated by tremendous requests from many VCs and accelerators in Silicon Valley to discover Asian startup markets. The Project is to have a startup reality show with pitching tournament winners from 6 different Asian cities – Manila, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta – in Silicon Valley. This project is sponsored by Silicon Valley based VCs, accelerators and Co-working space who look forward to meeting top startup founders from Asia.
Startups who wish to participate should submit their pitch deck to pitch@befast.tv by 21st August and those shortlisted 16 startups will attend the event for free.
This is a new kind of event to promote and motivate Philippines startups and there will be entertaining components to surprise guests.
