PH Government Releases Ad that Copies ‘That Thing Called Tadhana’

PH Government Releases Ad that Looks Like 'That Thing Called Tadhana'

It looks like we’re not the only ones caught by the That Thing Called Tadhana bug.

The Official Gazette of the Republic Philippines Facebook page released an ad that guides users on how to get a passport, using a re-designed poster of the hit movie by Tonet Jadaone.

In the poster, stars Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman stand in front of a check-in counter at an airport. This is where the two first meet and develop a romance. The government features the same thing, except the JM standin is holding a Philippine passport. The ad is captioned with ‘How to get a passport’, with a link to the official website with the steps.

That Thing Called Tadhana follows Mace and Anthony as they try to mend their broken hearts by going on a trip to Sagada. Since launching early this year, it was declared as the most successful indie film, reaching P120 million in gross revenue, even if it was heavily pirated. It was first screened at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival in 2014, where Angelica won the Best Actress Award.
