Down by 22 points entering the last quarter, Ginebra needed a massive play to overcome such a large gap.

It was rookie Scottie Thompson that gave them that massive play.

Scoring a total of 14 points, Thompson scored 10 points in the final quarter, including the final free-throw that saved Ginebra.

After ending the first quarter with a deadlock at 22 points, the Road Warriors took both second and third quarter, leaving the Ginebra struggling until their comeback in the fourth.

Greg Slaughter scored 18 points, while Thompson followed with 14; Japeth Aguilar came closely behind with 12.

Chris Ellis and Dave Marcelo, who played big roles in Ginebra’s hostile takeover, made double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For the Road Warriors, big man Asi Taulava led with 21 points, Sean Anthony snapped 16, and Jonas Villanueva came out with 11.

The Road Warriors will face off against Rain or shine next Saturday, while Ginebra will go up against Talk N’ Text on Sunday.
