Party like a rockstar!!! P7.7-million Champagne sold on NYE in PH, a first in Asia

Someone was absolutely feeling festive and wanted to party like a rockstar (and welcomed 2018 with a big, big bang) so they went on and bought the 30-liter Brut Gold Midas from the Cove Manila in Okada.

The bottle came with a P7.7 million price tag.

The drink is the champagne of choice of celebrities like George Clooney, David Beckham, and Kim Kardashian.

Like me, you may wonder why does it have a ridiculously high price? The reason is the super meticulous winemaking process behind it. According to Armand de Brignac, “only 18 people touch a bottle – from the pressing of the fruit to the champagne’s departure from France, to the finished each bottle receives.”

If you’re wondering what it tastes like, it is described to have:

Marvelously complex and full-bodied, its bouquet is both fresh and lively, with light floral notes. On the palate, Brut Gold has a sumptuous, racy fruit character perfectly integrated with the wine’s subtle brioche accents. The Champagne’s texture is deliciously creamy, with great depth paired with a long, silky finish.

The post on social media has received mixed reactions. Some say that it’s good for anyone who purchased it because they have that money to buy an exquisite bottle of Champagne and that they probably worked hard for it. Others say that it would have been better if that money was just used to feed the hungry and poor especially since it’s New Year.

But how about you? What are your thoughts on this? Anything to add to this story?
