When in Manila, whether you’re a tourist, a native who just came back (or how we call it “balik-bayan”) or a local, you just make a commitment to yourself to get pampered. I’m not entirely sure if it’s just the low cost of pampering (ie: haircut, spa, etc) or perhaps the excellent service that Filipinos bring, but it sure is a big booming industry!

It’s surprising how spa-salons and pampering establishments erupted one after the other in Metro Manila. Wherever you go, you’ll see competing salons offering spa services, manicure, pedicure, paraffin and everything else at a very pocket-friendly price. When in Manila, there’s always something cool and affordable you can find. On the other hand, if you want to check out one place that really stands out with its beachy, laid back ambiance along with great customer service, then tag along with me and my husband, Martin, for an opportunity to experience NAIL-A-HOLICS Nail Salon and Spa.
Here’s my review of Nail-a-Holics Nail Salon & Spa: I was ecstatic! I love the staff, the ambiance, and their services. Upon setting foot in their spa at the ground level of the SM Bicutan branch, I could immediately feel the attention and (let me say it again) PAMPERING as one of the staff offered us their services and a warm smile. I say – how nice and hardworking of them.
I felt like a queen. The had me comfortably seated with a dozen pillows that made me just sink in. I also can’t emphasize enough about how much I love the beach theme of their spas. I was told that there are other Nail-A-Holic branches that are much bigger, but it really didn’t matter as I was definitely cozy. From the walls were painted Tiffany blue to the color of the lacquer, it was all good.

Absolutely everything about Nailaholics Nail Spa and Salon makes you more relaxed and ready to just float away into a cozy nap.
I also really liked the custom made couches that have curtains that make you look and feel like a princess being pampered at the beach! Furthermore, I also appreciated how the chandeliers complemented the beach theme with a hint of luxury and elegance. It perfectly matched the whole girly, relaxing theme. I even loved the “beach scene” wallpaper which made the ambiance inviting!
Did I emphasize enough that their staff was very friendly?! They were all wearing aprons and masks for hygienic purposes, but underneath, they were cheerful, smiling little kids, all eager to please their customers.
We tried their “CLOUD 9” Manicure, Pedicure, and Foot Spa with Seaweed wrap…. Ammaaazing! Martin actually dozed off because the foot spa was awesome. He also wants to make sure I mention that he did not get the nail-polish or what he called “the shiny-toe thing with the red stuff”… Oh men! Can’t live with them and can’t live without them!

We were sold on this place! So we decided to take our pampering to the next level and get some extra treatments. I went on to get some nail art, which turned out to be absolutely cunning! I chose the zebra print (white base and black stripes). If found this captivating as I watched my nail artist with her really light hands able to paint intricate details on my tiny fingernail.

In the end, my experience with Nail-A-Holics turned out to be pleasureable and memorable. Highly recommended! I’m hoping to visit nail-a-holics more often. It was an ultimate after work haven for tired legs and hands like mine! If you ask me, this is one thing that you should definitely go try…WHEN IN MANILA.
