Pambansang Bestie: Miss Bulgaria Adds Filipino Meme-Maker on Facebook

Pambansang Bestie Miss Bulgaria Adds Filipino Meme-Maker on Facebook

Radost Todorova, the Miss Bulgaria contestant in this year’s Miss Universe is proving that she is indeed the pambansang bestie or the national bestie. After supporting Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach take the crown from Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez, numerous memes were created to celebrate their friendship.

In the 2015 Miss Universe, host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Wurtzbach as first runner-up and Gutiérrez as the title-holder when it was supposed to be the other way around. When Wurtzbach was announced as the real winner, she was too shocked to move forward and claim the crown and sash. She looked at Todorova, who was seen smiling and enthusiastically urging Wurtzbach to go forward.

One of the most popular memes of the pageant was made by Ron Cruz, who screencapped what happened and captioned it with, “Even if we already know what to do, we always look for that one friend who will push us to do it. We all need a #MissBulgaria in our lives.”

To Cruz’s surprise, Todorova added him on Facebook. He shared a photo of the request, with the caption “Me: I need a Miss Bulgaria in my life. Miss Bulgaria: Ok. I died!”

Since the pageant, Todorova has posted messages on her Facebook page about her love for the Philippines. On Christmas Eve, she posted, “Maligayang pasko po, Pilipinas!”
