After a year-long hiatus, indie-rock band Kamara returns to the music scene with a new line-up and a reimagined version of their hit, “Makalimutin.” To celebrate, Kamara will hold a comeback gig called Paalala Sa Makalimutin: Kamara Single Launch and Comeback Gig.
The event will happen on February 28, 2019, 7 PM to 10 PM at Jess&Pat’s, Maginhawa, QC. Kamara will
be playing alongside indie bands Munimuni, The Ridleys, and Morobe. Ticket price is at PHP 250, and it comes with free iced tea or french fries. Follow Marilag and Kamara on Facebook for future updates. The event is organized by Marilag Records and Productions.
Kamara was originally formed in 2014. Kerith de Ocampo, the band’s frontman and main songwriter, started the band after a short stint as a solo artist. They write songs about life, hope, and finding meaning in uneventfulness accompanied by jumpy acoustic sounds. After their hiatus, Kamara returns with a new lineup and a more playful sound inspired by the diverse interests of the new band members–from Japanese rock, classical music, and jazz.
Kamara is Kerith De Ocampo (lead vocalist), Angel Merced (bassist), Christian Borres (drummer), and TJ Castillon (guitarist). Cameras capture life’s experiences for study and inspiration. Kamara’s music aims to do the same.
