Some people treat their dogs like family… but then there are those people who just treat their dogs like they don’t really matter that much. Case in point: whoever owns this car. As read in an incident circulating around the Internet:
We were at a mall today at 5pm, and after parking, we saw that the car to our right had a dog inside. The car was not running, and there was no one inside with the dog. When we left at around 6:10pm, the dog was still inside the car.
The mall is a dog-friendly mall, so I don’t understand why they would leave their dog in a parked car. Even with the minimal gap left in the window, it was irresponsible to leave their dog locked up all by itself. Who knows how long it had been there? No matter how short the errand (and it wasn’t), if they couldn’t bring their dog with them, then they shouldn’t leave it on its own to overheat or to be locked up. I just want to spread awareness. It’s never okay to leave your pets in a parked car, no matter how short you think your errand is.
Please do not leave your animals in your car. They might not be people, but they deserve to be treated better than that.
