Open Letter to Our Avid Reader Che

We really really really LOVE and appreciate our readers and fans of WhenInManila.com.

The other day, we received a message on our site’s contact form, but unfortunately, the email left by our reader does not seem to be working. But again, you guys mean so much to us, that we thought we’d answer this one LIVE!

From “Che”

Hi Team,

An avid reader here, but really disappointed on the changes on your site. Parang na lost ako. Gumulo. I didn’t know where are the latest articles. Meron pang mga scrolling/movement effects.. I know we must embrace change, but this upgrade that you’ve done on your site medyo parang ayaw ko na ng wheninmanila.

THanks.

Thank you so much for the input. We started to have too many updates per day as our community of story tellers grew to over 200. Our new articles ranged from five to around fifteen per day!  So we thought that this new format might be better so that people could still see all the updates, but also have sections they may scroll to if they have some favorite sections or categories. We feel like it preserved the posts while still being aesthetically nice and user friendly.

The latest articles are all on that rotating header. That big section you should see immediately when you go to the site. Articles are arranged there chronologically.

Please do give it some time and see if it might grow on you when you get used to it. Sites like Facebook always get a loud uproar when they change formats, but then people get used to it and start liking it.

If you still think we can improve the layout after giving it a chance, do give us some constrictive input and we will do our best.

Thanks so much for the support and input. It really means a lot to us.
