Oasis Bar and Grill Provides Food, Flames and Fun

Oasis Bar and Grill Provides Food, Flames and Fun

Most people go to bars purely to drink, party, and hang out with their barkada, but, as self proclaimed foodies, David and I love to go out and see which one has the tastiest food. We’re still narrowing it down and have lots of places yet to drop by, but Oasis Bar and Grill in Quezon City is definitely not one to miss!

There are two options for seating: outdoors under the roofing, which is quieter, better lit and less crazy than indoors, which is loud, air conditioned, dimly lit with disco lights flickering around, and has loud music blasting. We’ve been to Oasis Bar and Grill twice now, and sat in each section. Since we were there to eat, not to party, we preferred sitting outdoors where we could actually see what we were eating.

Both food and drinks are very reasonably priced here, so we ordered a pitcher of Landslide while we were waiting to order our food for just Php199. It was deliciously creamy and yummy. By the way, nearly all of their cocktail pitchers come at that lovely price, with just a couple exceptions. The drinks are good, and considering that some bars will charge you that much just for a single glass, definitely worth it for people like us that aren’t really beer drinkers!

Crispy sisig, 125php

The crispy sisig at Oasis has proven to be so good that we ordered it both times that we ate here. You can add-on chicharon and/or an egg for just Php10 each, which we did, and it was delicious. It was served hot on a sizzling plate, full of meat and crispy onions. Along with it, we ordered 3 cups of garlic rice, which turned out to be way too much as they give really big servings of rice. We took a whole extra cup home for our next meal.

Flaming grilled squid, 170php

The other main dish that we ordered was the flaming grilled squid, and we were in for a treat! When they brought the platter to our table, they set the whole thing on fire! It really was flaming, and grabbed the attention of everyone in the bar. I really wish we had been expecting that and had been able to get a photo of the squid with over a foot of flame surrounding it, but the fire died down before we could get the camera ready. It tasted absolutely delicious too, a bit on the chewy side but so flavorful that it didn’t matter to us.

Mozzarella sticks, 105php

To complete our meal, we added one last order of mozzarella sticks, and again were delighted with what we received. They were real mozzarella sticks, mozzarella cheese coated in bread crumbs and deep-fried, not the cheese-flavored bread sticks that a lot of places serve and which is what we were expecting. This was much more than we expected, especially for the price, so we were really happy.

Oasis Bar and Grill is definitely an underrated bar and grill, and at their prices is definitely worth making a trip to try out. They’ve sure got my stamp of approval!
