Noontec Zoro headphones: stylish, portable, good sound with great value

When In Manila and you are looking for an alternative to the crappy sounding Beats headphones but you want a similar stylish design, why not try out the Noontec Zoro headphones? They have the same aesthetic qualities but with better, and I mean much better sound than the overpriced Beats headphones. You get a much cheaper alternative, you also get a much better audio experience. What else can you ask for?

Build Quality: The Noontec Zoro really has a very very similar design to the Beats Solo headphones. The only difference would be the shape of the cups and with the logo. The Noontec Zoro sports a folding band that uses a metal swivel, ensuring a lasting quality. One thing to note though is the fact that it is also as slim as the Beats Solo and should be somehow cared for upon using or carrying around. There’s possibility of it snapping  since the band is slim. Not entirely sure about this since the swivel is metal and I think that the inner parts of the headphone band may also have a metal skeleton connecting to the swivel. Otherwise, it still feels a little scary to accidentally crush it inside your bag. Better be safe than sorry.

Sound Quality: The Noontec Zoro‘s sound signature strays more into the extensions on both the upper and lower regions. It has ample pounding bass that does not bloat at all and keeps the pace of the music up. The bass decays and initiates properly, avoiding any possible decay delay or bloating that could make the pace of the sound seem slower than normal. With the treble extension of the Noontec Zoro, it’s good to know that the treble is not left out. My only gripe against the treble is with how hot or piercing it can get upon initial listening. You would definitely need to break-in the headphones for 50-100 hours to tame the treble down. Another strong point of the Noontec Zoro that I noticed is with the imaging of instruments. I noticed how the Noontec Zoro is capable of representing the positioning of the instruments. The imaging isn’t as good as mid or top-tier headphones, but for the price, the Noontec Zoro shows good imaging. Soundstage is average, but not suffocating at all. The overall sound is V-shaped but barely has much veil. I just wished that the treble didn’t spike too much and made the overall sound quality just a little thin for my taste.

For the price of P3,200, it’s hard to beat the Noontec Zoro as an alternative to the Beats Solo. I would actually recommend the Noontec Zoro over the Beats Solo for the sound quality it has and for the price to performance ratio. So if you’re looking into buying the Beats Solo, I suggest grabbing the Noontec Zoro instead.
