I have been seeing complaints all over my Timeline lately about how NASA allegedly changed everyone’s zodiac sign RKO (outta nowhere).
Apparently, that isn’t the case at all. A Tumblr page explains it perfectly: NASA studies astronomy, not astrology, so they didn’t change any zodiac signs; they simply did the math. Through the centuries, the Earth’s axis has made the sky shift and the stars, in turn, change. Read the full explanation here. So, while the constellations have definitely changed since the Babylonians came up with the zodiac chart (which was already wonk to begin with), NASA hasn’t actually made any changes to the chart that we all know and love.
So, rest easy, dear insert-your-zodiac-sign-here. Your zodiac sign and the traits that come with it are still safe. 🙂 …unlike Pluto. 🙁
