New Found Glory Live in Manila: Top 5 Songs We Can’t Wait to Hear Live

New Found Glory Live in Manila: Top 5 Songs We Can’t Wait to Hear Live

For the second time around, the living legends of pop punk are coming back to Manila to play yet another kick-ass show brought to us by Pulp Live World.  Jordan, Chad, Ian and Cyrus rose up from the ashes and made a comeback to the music scene with their new album called “Resurrection”. Even if they’re one member short now, the boys of New Found Glory still maintained the original, gritty and infectious quality of their songs. Listening to their new album now will remind you that these boys have been ruling the pop punk scene for decades and their sound just got even better with age.

We’ve been listening to their albums from the late 90s up to the latest and I can tell you right now that when they hit the stage of SM Sky Dome on February 8, it’s going to be one unforgettable show! We have no idea what songs they are planning to play to blow our minds with, but we’re hoping the songs on this list are included. So, without further ado, here are the Top 5 songs we can’t wait to hear from New Found Glory live in Manila:

New Found Glory Live in Manila: Top 5 Songs We Can’t Wait to Hear Live

 5. Hit or Miss (Waited Too Long)

Let’s start with the classic NFG song “Hit or Miss”. This song is a favorite among New Found Glory fans because it revealed the band’s original and gripping sound. It’s the first single from their 2000 album, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” and it’s one of the songs that really hooked me to them. The lyrics of this song will bring you instant nostalgia and #hugot feels about the one that got away. My favorite line from this song is “I’ve had so many chances, turn my back and I ran away. I’ve had so many chances to see you.” Ugh, right in the heart!

4. Dressed To Kill

This hit song of New Found Glory made it to the list because it’s an absolute ear-worm. It’s just impossible not to hear it on repeat in your head because of its super catchy tune and heartbreaking lyrics. This is the anthem of couples who are in a long distance relationship and those who just can’t get over a painful breakup. My favorite #hugot line: “And you’re, you’re not here. And I can’t stop pretending that you’re forever mine.”

3. Too Good To Be

One of the rare acoustic songs from their 2006 album, “Coming Home”, this song will make you fall in love with Jordan Pundik’s voice so much you’d put this song on repeat all day. Plus the clapping parts and hearing the other members sing on the background will make you feel like you’re hearing them play right on your living room. So chill and relaxing, it’s totally the perfect jam to listen to when you just want to be alone with your feelings. We can’t wait to see its acoustic performance.  We really hope this one is on their set list! Fingers crossed!

2. On My Own

This new song from their latest album is going to be your current jam when you hear it. It feels like an NFG classic song when you listen to it for the first time but with more of that punk aggressiveness and added head bang quality. This song is just pure badass from the first note to the last. When you hear the hook on the chorus “Do it again on my own, my own!” it’s impossible to get it out of your head. Trust me I tried.

1. Resurrection

This song is so uplifting and definitely my most played from their new album. The lines “So long and thanks for nothing. I’m gone, I’m moving on. Watch my resurrection!” is perfect for those who are trying to move on from a bad relationship. Even if you’re not, you’ll feel the intensity of this song it’ll make you raise your fist in the air and just sing along even if you just heard it for the first time. It’s sort of a therapy song really because it validates your bad feelings but at the same time, helps you to overcome it.  I try so hard not to bang my head in public whenever I’m listening to this song but I fail every time.

Bonus: My Friends Over You

This song is my high school jam and whenever I hear it, I feel like I’m 14 again. I really thought this was a happy song back then. It took me a couple of playbacks to realize how sad it is. My favorite #hugot line from this song is: “There’s no room left here on my back it was damaged long ago. Though you swear that you are true, I still pick my friends over you.”
