Netizen’s Open Letter To MMFF On Honor Thy Father Disqualification: Give Pinoys More Choices

The surprise decision of the MMFF to disqualify Honor Thy Father for the “Best Picture” category due to an alleged “non-disclosure violation” has shocked film circles and the public, alike.

According to the letter addressed to Ronald Monteverde, one of the producers for Honor Thy Father, the film was disqualified “due to the non-disclosure of [the film’s] participation to the Cinema One Originals Festival 2015 as the opening film and after careful and thorough deliberation”, a claim that the producers and director of the film, Erik Matti, have refuted.

Netizen Kip Oebanda took to social media to air his feelings on the disqualification of Erik Matti’s film, which has been highly praised by critics since its showing, which has gone viral on Facebook.
