Netizen Traces Scam Text Message to Facebook Profile, Alleged Scammer Responds

Netizen Traces Scam Text Message to Facebook Profile AAA

We all get those scam messages saying we were charged for subscriptions we never applied for. It’s a nuisance, but it’s something we have to live with as mobile subscribers.

A netizen got curious and decided to do a background check on a text scam he received. As you know, our mobile numbers are linked to our Facebook profiles. And when you type your mobile number on Facebook (just use + and then the country code), it will lead to your Facebook page.

This curious netizen did it to the scammer… and found his Facebook profile. Complete with his name and photos.

However, it is also possible that the person’s phone was stolen and the thief is using the number, which explains why we blurred the photos.

On the alleged scammer’s Facebook page, he wrote:

Hi everyone! I just want to clear things out regarding the issue that is being shared here in FB that says I am a “scammer”…I just want to let you know that the TM # has been deactivated years ago and don’t know why and how this happened. I’m also a victim here.
