Various children’s welfare advocates team up with women led organization, ALTANS (Association of Ladies for Truth and Nobility in Service) for a charity event on December 13 entitled, “TAYM PERS: SHARE A LITTLE OF YOUR TIME FOR OUR CHILDREN.”

The event is a sports and talent clinic that will benefit over 60 students from Sto. Cristo Elementary School, Quezon City who are handled by Teach for the Philippines, an organization known to enlist some of the country’s most promising young leaders to teach in public schools throughout the Philippines.

The kids will learn basic volleyball from multi-awarded athletes Carmela Tunay of UST Lady Tigers and Kim Fajardo of DLSU Lady Spikers. Another session will be led by the Ultimate Frisbee Philippine Team and Sunken Pleasure member Alex Castro to introduce the sport.

Husay Talents, a group of performance art advocates, has also joined the event and will be conducting a Hip-Hop dance class with Ms. K-anne Dizer of KALA Dance Group as an instructor.

Actress Nadine Samonte has pledged to provide power meals for the participants. TV personality and former DLSU Lady Spiker Michele Gumabao has also expressed her support for the advocacy.

ALTANS is a non-government and non-profit foundation that endeavors to help marginalized communities through the power of shared efforts from different formations and individual advocates. It focuses on creating programs that will uphold the rights and welfare of women and children.

This event is sponsored by Bayani Brew, Waters Philippines and Shawarmama, co-presented by Sunken Pleasure, Pi Sigma Delta Sorority, EMC2 Fraternity, UP CradLe, UP Red Cross Youth and UP Broadcaster’s Guild. Special thanks to CANVAS for making this event possible.
