More CCTVs to be installed in Manila, according to Mayor Estrada

Following the horrible road rage crime in Quiapo, the Manila Mayor plans to release more funds to install closed-circuit television or CCTV, Manila Standard reports.

Estrada was told that the crime was captured on CCTV. Although, it was a vital piece of evidence in releasing the identity of the true suspect, Mayor Estrada encouraged everyone to be mindful of their surroundings.

As quoted in the article, Erap commented that the crime would’ve been prevented had the onlookers helped pacify the two.

“Let us do our part, who knows one day it will be our own loved ones who will be the victims of such crime,” he mentioned in the article.

Future endeavors for city of Manila

According to the report, Mayor Estrada issued about P20 million budget for 896 barangays in Manila to help combat drugs and crime. The bulk of the funds will be used for the procurement of more CCTVs in the communities.

Estrada’s efforts were appreciated by Councilor Mayor Lackson, whose dad works as a barangay chairman in Tondo.

Ultimately, Estrada plans to put more bike lanes to accommodate the bikers’ safety in Manila.

I would have to agree with Mayor Estrada on how we should be mindful of our surroundings. By doing so, we might be able to save someone’s life. Don’t you think?
