MOA Pyromusical: A Great Way to Bond with the Family
When in Manila and talking about the MOA pyromusical, a lot of people seem to think that it is a “couple’s event”. I’m not sure if that has something to do with the people that I know, but every time I ask my friends if they will be attending the MOA pyromusical, the standard reply is “Hindi eh. Wala akong date.” (“Nah. I don’t have a date.”)
I’m going to admit that the first time that I went to the MOA pyromusical, I went with my then-boyfriend. The next time I went, however, I went with my barkada and I actually enjoyed it immensely with them. This year, to keep the changes going, I decided to go with my family. And we all had a blast!
Since the Mall of Asia usually gets pretty packed during pyromusical Saturdays, though, I would highly advise you to leave the house early. Worried you’ll get bored coz you won’t have anything to do when you get there? Come on! It’s MOA! Get a facial at Flawless. Watch a movie at SM Cinemas. Or, you know, eat. Like we did:
At around 7:15pm (I’m going to be honest: from previous experience and this year’s experience, the MOA pyromusical never really starts on time), head on over to the venue at SM by the Bay and you will be there just in time for the first country to show off its pyrotechnics. For us this past weekend, it was France who wowed us with a fun and sparkling spectacle:
After that, you’ll have about a 15 to 30 minute break as the next country preps its magic and wherein you can bond with your family some more, grab some dessert, fruit shakes or more food at the stalls available at the venue. Or, you know, you can just take pictures with the segways like we did:
After that, Japan put on their stunning lights show, taking a more eclectic route by adding some relaxing musical fireworks (who knew fireworks could be relaxing?) into the mix:
My family and I definitely enjoyed the show and everyone is psyched to catch it again for the upcoming weekends.
