It seems like we can’t seem to get enough of Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago!
The ever-quotable senator, whose book “Stupid is Forever” has become a bestseller, has a total of 2.6 million likes on her Facebook page as of March this year, according to a report by the Philippine Star!
This makes her the most followed senator on Facebook, the report said.
Next to her, Senate Majority Alan Peter Cayetano and Sen. Francis Escudero have 543,744 and 491,123 likes on their Facebook pages respectively.
The report also says that Sen. Miriam’s office revealed that celebrity-senators Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla, and Tito Sotto have no Facebook accounts.
Sen. Miriam is also apparently the most followed senator on Twitter, with 1.3 million followers as of March this year, way up from 649,000 exactly a year ago!
Sen. Pia Cayetano is a far second with 359,330 Twitter followers, and Sen. Chiz falls in third with 220,143 followers.
Among public officials, Sen. Miriam falls in second only to the President, who has 4.2 million Facebook fans, and nearly 2.5 million Twitter followers.
The senator has been battling stage four lung cancer since last year, yet still attends public hearings when she can, and still remains as the senator with the most number of bills and resolutions filed in Congress, according to the Philippine Star.
