MINT College Celebrates Youth Creativity in First-ever Creative Fest

Meridian International (MINT) College launched its first-ever MINT Creative Fest last July 15, at the MINT College campus. The event was attended by college and senior high students who enjoyed talks, workshops, and performances.

“For this event, we wanted to open the creative community of MINT to a bigger audience. We want individuals who come from traditional settings to experience what we experience at MINT on a daily basis—creativity, diversity, and community,” said Hendrik Kiamzon, Executive Vice President of the Taguig-based college. MINT College offers programs in Multimedia Arts, Film, Theater Arts, Music Business Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurial Management, Computer Science and Information Technology.

The event was jump-started by MINT’s home-grown improvisational comedy group, One and a Half Men (OAAHM), and was immediately followed by Janina Vela, a senior high student, with a talk about her creative process. Janina shared her experiences: from being a consumer, to being a certified YouTuber, and encouraged the audience to have the courage to do what they are passionate about.

As much as possible, we want to highlight a creative field that the youth are into nowadays. The five workshops are what we think to be up and coming in the visual arts, performing arts, and the music industry.”

The event was capped off by a night of performances from singer, songwriter and MINT alumnus, Clara Benin, Autotelic, Jensen and the Flips, Words Anonymous, and MINT Music Business students: Cheenee Gonzalez, Dane Hipolito, and Asch.
