Milky Way of Malate: Home of the Best and Classic Filipino Favorites Now in McKinley Hill!

Several years ago, Milky Way of Malate started as a simple ice cream and soda parlor, serving a variety of ice cream and sodas during the time. When the owner migrated to the United States, the Araullo sisters came and bought the business rights, bringing in their own family recipes, such as dinuguan, relleno, sandwiches, cakes and several distinct Kapampangan specialties, making Milky Way famous for their “turo-turo” style of service.

Milky Way of Malate has been home to many nostalgic memories. They have catered to several events and celebrations where people could relish the wondrous delicacies they are famous for. Blossoming after years of transformation, Milky Way now boasts a menu that entices not only our palates, but also our hearts.

Several generations of the Araullo Goquingco family have gone to great lengths to maintain the taste and quality of their fare, but still, Milky Way of Malate has withstood the passing of time and has gone through a series of changes to become one of the best restaurants in the Metro.

I grew up with a family who loves discovering good food in every place that we go – and Milky Way has been part of our journey. I was still too young when my family frequented their branch at Pasay Road in Makati City, so I cannot really remember how it was back then, but my mother recounted all of the nostalgic stories and how we enjoyed all of the good food served at the time. Fast forward to present, I am fortunate to have visited Milky Way again at their new branch at Tuscany, McKinley Hill after a decade or so.

Bulalo Steak smothered with their creamy gravy sauce was a goner in seconds!

Served smokin’ hot on a plate with mixed peas, carrots, and corns and smothered with that awesome gravy sauce is their tender Bulalo Steak that became an instant hit at our table. It is so delightful that it was a goner in seconds!

A big serving of Sizzling Bangus wouldn’t hurt, especially when marinated, cooked, and served on a hot sizzling plate that’s good for 2 or more people!

Lengua on red sauce – tender and rich in flavor!

Another superb dish is their Lengua on Red Sauce. With its lip-smacking, tomato-rich sauce and tender beef tongue, one would keep going back for more.
