The International Olympic Committee Philippine representative and actress-turned-equestrian arrived at the Athletes Village to pay a visit to the Filipino athletes after a grueling 24-hour flight from Manila, according to local news reports.

Mikee praised the Filipino athletes for all the hard work they put into preparing for the Olympics, saying that qualifying for the Games is more than enough.

Mikee herself represented the Philippines in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, where she won a gold medal in equestrian.

Although Mikee never earned the chance to compete in the Olympics, she says that she is very happy for the athletes who are in Rio representing the country.

Mikee will be joining the Philippine delegation on Tuesday’s flag-raising event.
