We’ve seen enough beauty pageants to know how stressful and nerve-wracking it can be. The dreaded question-and-answer portion is the least of any aspiring queen’s worries, because she has to worry about other things like making a good impression on her introduction, her swimsuit, long gown, and hair, and making sure to never trip. Before you start making fun of a contestant, think how hard she had to prepare before she stepped out on stage. Imagine how crazy the backstage can be!
But Filipinas are known for being beautiful and classy. Just take note of all the beauty queens who won titles in recent years. One of our proudest moments was when Megan Young won the Miss World title in 2013, becoming the first Filipina to win the crown.
Megan Young will be back on stage this year to pass on her crown to the next Miss World. You may think she has less things to worry about, but that’s not the case. Because aside from crowning her successor, she will also be hosting the coronation night this year. How often do you see queens take on hosting duties the same year they crown the successor? Megan must have made a huge impact on the organizers!

According to Megan, “I am so excited to be co-hosting Miss World. I love hosting, it is truly one of my biggest passions and to be able to host such an iconic event in front of billions of viewers worldwide only a year after I was crowned is such an honor.”
She will be joined by Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent and Mr. World Canada 2013 Frankie Cena, who is the pageant’s web presenter.
This year, 125 contestants from around the world will compete for the title of Miss World 2015. The Philippines’ representative is model-host Valerie Weigmann.Â
