Meet the Man with No Arms & Limbs: Nick Vujicic Live in Manila!

 

When in Manila, interesting things happen quite often.  Just in a month’s time, Philippines will witness yet again one of the most amazing phenomenon in modern days.  It’s seeing, Nick Vujicic, a man with no arms and limbs talk about hope and strength and living a limitless life.  He has found the answer and he aims to share it with each and every one of us.

 

MEET NICK

Imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around a friend; no hands to hold the ones you love; no fingers to experience touch; no way to lift or carry things. How much more difficult would life be if you were living without arms and hands? Or what about legs? Imagine if instead of no arms, you had no legs. No ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand. Now put both of those scenarios together… no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that affect your everyday life?

Born in Melbourne, Australia back in 1982, Nicholas Vujicic was born without arms or legs from a rare disorder called tetra-amelia.  This Serbian-Australian man only had two small feet, with one foot having two little toes.  His disability was a daily struggle against the usual challenges of school and growing up such as bullying and self-esteem issues, as well as with depression and loneliness. At age 8, he thought of attempting suicide, but his love for his parents prevented him from fully pursuing it.  Nick Vujicic soon realized that he wasn’t alone in his struggles, and he started embracing his lack of limbs.  Believe it or not, he can type on the computer using the “heel and toe” method up to 45 words per minute.  He can throw tennis balls, play drum pedals, get a glass of water, swim and even go sky-diving.  It seems that there’s nothing this man cannot do.  He’s unstoppable. 

Today, Nick Vujicic is married to a lovely wife named Kanae Miyahara and has one son.  He has traveled across the globe giving inspirational and motivational speeches on overcoming the challenges of a limbless life through Jesus Christ. He has recorded audio commentaries and DVDs about his life and speeches; and written two books called, Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life and the recently released Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith.

Let’s admit it. All of us have problems.  We have felt hopeless and worthless “like a plastic bag.”  Nick had once upon a felt felt that way, but he was able to escape from all the depression, loneliness and discontentment living without limbs has to offer.  He has found hope somewhere.  He has discovered true joy.  If it’s possible to him, I’m sure it’s more possible to us.  Which is why we should catch him live on May 20, 2013, 7:30PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum!!   I’m sure it’s going to be worth it.
