Mayweather to Wear $25K Mouthguard in Fight Against Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao

The whole world is so excited for the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight that it has already been billed as “the fight of the century.” Celebrities have chosen their sides, advertisers have prepared their commercials, and tickets have been bought to watch this historic fight live in Las Vegas. In turn, the boxers are also preparing by working out and getting in shape.

Mayweather is also doing some extra preparations: aside from his boxing routine, he has also customized a mouthguard worth $25,000 (roughly P1,075,000). The mouthpiece will be made by Dr. Lee Gause, and will have gold flakes, diamonds, and real $100 bills (roughly P4,300). According to Mayweather, he is customizing his mouthguard because “My career’s gone on 19 years and I’ve been able to preserve my smile.”

The New York-based dentist is the owner of  the Iceberg Guard performance mouth-wear line, and takes care of the teeth of professional athletes like former welterweight champion Andre Berto, NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire and retired NFL linebacker Christopher Borland.

There’s still no word what the $25,000 mouthguard will look like.
