Max’s and Rock Star Chef Laudico Elevates Filipino Cuisine To a Whole New Level with Their New Dinner Specials

When in Manila and would like to take the whole family to an unforgettable gastronomic dinner experience, I highly recommend you head onto Max’s starting Oct 15, 2013 from 6pm onwards and try out their Max’s Dinner Specials featuring well loved Filipino favorites made even more special by Rock Star Chef Laudico!

About a week ago, I got an invitation from Max’s to join them for a special dinner with highly acclaimed Chef Laudico. Although I rarely attend blogger events due to my busy schedule, there were 2 things which made me say “YES”.  First, I have such high regard for chefs, as I see them as artists and modern-day philosophers. Much is to be learned from their wisdom so I consider encounters with chefs as a privilege. Second, like you, I have so many fond memories about Max’s, that it earned a special place in my heart. Up to this day, 1 bite of their famous fried chicken would still launch me down to memory lane. Memories like those times when me, my lolo and lola would all go to the grocery every Tuesdays in Cubao then afterwards have lunch at Max’s

It was my Lolo who taught me the perfect sauce formula: Jufran + Worcestershire+ hot sauce! I still do this today and will surely pass this on to my kids! =)

Kare-Kare: My 2nd favorite dish at Max’s

Anyways, going back to the dinner event with Max’s and Chef Laudico, I still did my best to attend despite the heavy rains and the absence of my camera for I knew it would be another great addition to my list of Max’s memories.

Upon arriving, I was humbled to realize how privileged I was to be invited to such an intimate dinner with only roughly 10 people in one long dinner table. I was thrilled to finally meet and have the honor to shake hands with Chef Laudico. Dinner immediately started and I was so delighted when I heard we were the 1st ones to try out their new Dinner Specials before formally opening it to the public on Oct 15.

Here are the new additions to the Max’s roster of “Sarap to the Bones” dishes…

Max’s Seafood Tinapa Pasta – Italian gourmet meets the very Pinoy smoked “bangus”! If you tend to be adventurous with your pasta and fancy seafood as well, then I’m sure you’d rave about this a lot! Expect a generous amount of fresh seafood sauteed in extra virgin olive oil, garlic, onions, red and green peppers, basil then kicked a notch higher with fiery bits of siling labuyo!

Max’s Creamy Chorizo Pasta – I’d say, this is definitely a leveled-up version of our favorite Pinoy style spaghetti! I found it to be simple, unpretentious yet so flavorful and highly addictive! Seriously! I can’t wait to order this on my next visit!

After serving the pastas, the all-time favorite Max’s Fried chicken had its grand entrance! It’s not included in the new Dinner Specials but of course, every Max’s experience will never be complete without the star of the show!

Max’s Fried Chicken: Always a show-stopper

While having dinner, Chef Laudico shared his thoughts about elevating  our very own Filipino cuisine to broader heights. I truly agree that the world should know more about Filipino cuisine. I really admire chefs who share this advocacy in making Filipino cuisine be known internationally. I believe the partnership of Max’s and Chef Laudico is truly a match-made-in-heaven since both are very passionate in this cause.

Max’s Adobo Fried Rice

This new adobo fried rice by Max’s is a sure great addition aside from their current Tinapa rice. It had bang-delicious adobo sauce and chunks topped with diced fresh tomatoes, salted eggs and chopped spring onions! The fresh tomatoes, spring onions and salted eggs gave it a fresh more balanced feel! Comfort food indeed that goes perfectly with Max’s fried chicken!
