A new hotel is always a cool place to check out. A new hotel with a new sports bar is twice more a reason for me to check it out!
I’ve been looking for a place to watch some international sporting events since I got to the Philippines. Finding a decent place to watch any Playoff game, the SuperBowl, Paquiao fights or even just a San Diego Chargers Football game has quickly turned into a task more challenging than medical school. So finding out that the Velocity Sports Bar at the Marriott Hotel Manila caters to many of my sport watching needs, I quickly fell in love with this place.
The Marriott Hotel, right next to Resorts World Casino and near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, in itself had a very modern Avant Guarde look to it. Every corner of the Marriott seemed to boast a different style, look and feel to it. It was as if they hired a dozen different interior designers to create each different section of the hotel. Somehow, they all blended in very well together.
The Velocity Bar at one end of the Marriott Manila was in itself a venue to be admired with flatscreen TVs around every bend to satisfy your every sporting need. It’s very spacious but they say it totally fills up on days with big sporting events.
For the Super Bowl, they charged about P1,000 Pesos (about $22 US Dollars) to reserve a seat which included an all-you-can-eat buffet. Furthermore, you can instead pay P1,250 Pesos (about $27 US Dollars) and you can also get an all-you-can-drink open bar with that buffet. I’m not sure if that includes all the drinks or just beer, so give them a call first before you plan this binging experience. =)
Anyway, the Velocity Bar at the Marriott Hotel Manila was a very cool place with lots of cool seating. I’m totally heading back there the next time there’s a big sporting event that I want to watch. Can you say Pacquiao vs Mayweather?!?!?
So next time, When In Manila, watch your favorite sports events at the Velocity Bar in the Marriott Hotel Manila. Expect some crazy Pacquiao fans there or maybe, just maybe, we can see a San Diego Super Chargers SuperBowl Football game while I’m still here in the Philippines!
