Nick Nañgit – International Classical Concert Pianist

Nick Nañgit, International Classical Concert Pianist, will be holding a one-night only two-hour solo concert, entitled “LUNAS” on 23 October 2015, Friday, 7pm, in celebration of the National Children’s Month at the new UP Manila Museum of a History of Ideas in Padre Faura, Manila, which incidentally is also celebrating its month-long Anniversary. This limited seating capacity event is intended to benefit the “Safe Motherhood Caravan and Education Programs” of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (“PBSP”) – the country’s first and largest accredited foundation headed by Mr. Rafael Lopa – and the “19th Festival of Trees” fund-raising activities of the Makati Garden Club (“MGC”) – the country’s first organization on plant care and gardening chaired by Ms. Mindy Perez-Rubio.

Nick will be the first to do a solo concert in that venue by performing rarely played classical pieces, and giving world and Philippine premieres, of the masters: Schumann/Liszt, Haydn, Lecuona, Cruz, Arceo/Real, Rachmaninov/Schultz, Moszkowski, Prokofiev, Poulenc, Cornejo, Unite/Pacis, Rodgers/Hammerstein, and Bergman/Bergman/Shire.

Most important, he will be playing for the first time in the country special classical arrangements of Original Pilipino Music works entitled “Bituing Walang Ningning” and “May Bukas Pa”, as well as Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music Medley” and a surprise 1970’s romantic piece by Alan Bergman, Marlyn Bergman, and David Shire.
