It’s official! Students can now avail of the 20% fare discount on weekends, summer breaks, and even holidays.
Last year, you may recall how Senator Sonny Angara pushed for the “Expanded Fare Discount Bill” to extend the student fare discounts. Yesterday, LTFRB officially released a signed Memorandum Circular dated October 11 that grants students of the extended fare discount.

Said order will take effect on October 28, subjecting all public utility vehicle operators to follow. Students, except those taking post-graduate courses, will be able to avail of the 20% fare discount.
