If you’re hungry for a female superhero, look no further, because Wonder Woman is about to hit the big screen and here’s her first official movie poster.
Gal Gadot will resume her role of Wonder Woman for her self-titled film, marking the superhero’s first solo movie ever. That’s right, Wonder Woman will be the second time for the hero to appear after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last year.
Through the years, Wonder Woman has appeared in animated TV shows, made-for-TV movies, and animated films. In 1991, there was a Filipino adaptation of Batman called Alias Batman & Robin, where Dawn Zulueta starred as the heroine. In 2013, a short indie film called Wonder Woman was released.
The debut film will focus on her origin as a princess of the Amazons, who meets an American pilot who tells her about a world war.
Wonder Woman stars Gadot with Chris Pine, Lucy Davis,Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and David Thewlis. It is directed by Patty Jenkins, and will premiere on June 2, 2017.
