A new contender is entering the bingsu craze in town, and you can get high quality bingsu for as low as P100 in White Tree Café! Not only do they serve mouth-watering bingsu, but they also offer a wide variety of Korean delicacies, drinks, and other dishes as well. It’s located in the Oracle Building right in front of Ateneo, so it’s very accessible for students who want to stop for a quick bingsu break in between classes.
One of the owners, Calvin Sim, partnered up with Korean investors to create this premium café. It’s been his dream since 2015 to have his own café, so this is definitely a dream come true. He also enlisted a Korean painter, Park Hyang Ae, to paint the café’s walls with adorable illustrations, which makes the place perfect for your Instagram feed.

Here are some of the bingsu you can try in White Tree Café, and for just P100 you can already have super milky chocolate bingsu with a lot of toppings. Their ice is really soft and flavorful, so it almost feels like you’re eating ice cream. Their bestseller is the Injeolmi Bingsu, which is topped with a variety of tteok (Korean rice cake), mocha, and peanuts. Perfect for the hot weather!

Aside from bingsu, they also serve Korean dishes such as Tuna Kimbap, Tteokbokki, and Ramen. Their Tteokbokki is really spicy so if you’re a fan of spicy food, this is a must-try. The Ramen also comes in two varieties: mild and spicy.
But here’s a twist: they serve all-day breakfast and other comfort food, too!

Their all-day breakfast menu is also quite the looker. We tried out their skinless longganisa which came with an egg bun wrapped with bacon and it’s delectable. You can also opt to change the rice with kimchi rice. I’m not a big fan of kimchi because of its strong flavor, but their kimchi rice actually has a mild flavor and not too overpowering, so it goes perfectly with their longganisa.

They also have salads, paninis, and buffalo wings so you don’t need to go anywhere else to have your fix. The photos speak for themselves on how delectable their dishes are. I absolutely love the melting cheese in the panini!

Complete your meal with their cool shakes, which are bursting with flavor from the first sip! Their blueberry shake is a must-try as it’s covered with a ton of blueberries and the ice cream on top is a nice bonus.

Of course, a café isn’t complete without a cup of coffee. They have a variety of coffee you can choose from, which are all perfect to calm your mind. Their coffees are very rich and creamy, and the latte art gives a nice touch.
The spacious interiors of the café make it a perfect place to hang out, and the cozy couches are a nice place to unwind and relax. You’ll have to hurry though because the regular customers usually head for the couches immediately.
Calvin Sim was a real delight to talk to, and he actually rounds the café and chats with his customers when he passes by. All of the staff are one of the friendliest people I’ve encountered, especially the floor manager, Ms. Leica, who really makes an effort to make everyone feel at home.
White Tree Café was the name chosen for the café because it’s a symbol of the investors giving them a seed, while the management nurtures it into a tree. Moreover, white is a pure, encompassing color, which represents that everyone is welcome into their premium café.
