One of the best things about traveling to South Korea is that you can experience the four seasons without having to fly too far. I experienced fall for the first time when some friends and I flew to Seoul a few weeks ago. There, I fell in love with the season’s biting cold, the lush foliage, and the variety of colors on display. We saw different shades of green, yellow, brown, and red!
Fall in Korea typically starts in September and lasts through November. Temperatures range from 13 degrees to five degrees Celsius, but it can go lower than that during late fall and in the evening! When we were there in mid-November, it was so cold that we had to wear three layers of clothes, a very thick jacket, and gloves.

Gyeongbokgung Palace was the royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty and was built in 1395. The palace was destroyed many times but it is currently being restored to its former glory. The palace is a sprawling complex filled with gardens and trees, making it a beautiful visit during fall.
Nami Island is a strip of land overflowing with trees, flowers, and animals. During the fall, the island transforms into a wonderland of colors from red to green, yellow, brown, and gold.
