In order to register voters from far flung areas in Samar, this team from COMELEC has to brave the swollen river, cross it, and successfully do their work.
As we start the month of December, let me share an inspiring story about our COMELEC team from Hinabangan, Samar who bravely crossed the swollen river to be able to conduct satellite registration. My heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Riza Jadlong Distrajos, Evelyn Adobo and the rest of their team for showcasing genuine public service. This modern day heroism is indeed a proof of how the Commission continue to guard and promote the exercise of democratic rights.

The team crossed the swollen Tagpili River and the registration served Barangays Tabay, Cabang, and Concord. All are in Hinabangan, Samar. These are interior but small barangays. Most of the applicants are senior citizens and those who have not previously validated their registration. It took place last November 16-18.
