Discipline is key! Admit it, sometimes we can’t get our hands off of our phones or gadgets that we tend to tinker with it during class or important meetings!
To solve this remedy, Erald “Yad” Pecson, a faculty member of San Beda College Manila – Senior High School, wanted to check class attendance differently by getting his students’ cellphones and surrendering these in front of the classroom.

Teacher ako ng Philippine Politics and Governance sa Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences strand. Yung picture na iyon was during our long test for the said subject (in my caption), since alam kong mahilig ang mga millennials sa mga cell phone, and sometimes hindi nila napipigilan mag cellphone sa class, so I decided to use their CPs as [a basis for] their attendance during that day para less distraction while taking the test, and also to prevent any cheating incident. (But I trust my students naman na hindi sila mag chi-cheat during the test).
Rough translation: I am a Philippine Politics and Governance Teacher in Grade 12, for the Humanities and Social Sciences strand. Those photos were taken during our long test of the said subject (in my caption) since I know the millennials are fond of their cell phones, and sometimes they can’t help but use their phones in class. I decided to use their cellphones as [a basis for] their attendance during that day so they would be less distracted while taking the test, and also to prevent any cheating incident. (But I trust my students that they won’t cheat during the exam.)
