Before going to Davao, I’ve heard stories about the Duterte family. I’ve heard stories about them being tough, strict, yet kind and simple. In fact, another photo of the first family circulating online shows their simplicity.

They were seen sharing a meal together while waiting for their respective flights in Cebu airport last June 9, as reported by ABS-CBN. According to the news report, Baste was waiting for his flight back to Davao, while Inday Sara was accompanied by friends during her trip in Cebu. The article further states that the first family is still not used to the attention they are getting now.
Inday became famous when she shaved her head to show support for her father’s presidential candidacy. While Baste’s physique and enchanting voice made him an instant online heartthrob.
Ultimately, the photo says it all. Indeed, change is coming. Gone are the days, where first families (except the Obamas) should be glamorous and grand. At least for them, they are #PinoyandProud, eating Jollibee, just like any ordinary person.
