He’s not yet officially president, but Davao City mayor and presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte is already on the cover of the Asia edition of TIME magazine. The cover is accompanied with the caption, “The Punisher: Why Rodrigo Duterte is the Philippines’ new leader.”
The issue is the May 23 edition of the American weekly news magazine.
The cover photo was taken by Edwin Tuyay, a Filipino portrait photographer.
Duterte’s profile details his rise to the top of the polls and the issues he will inherit from the current administration, headed by President Benigno Aquino III.
