One of the highlights of the early cycles of America’s Next Top Model was seeing photographer Nigel Barker, judge Miss J (or J. Alexander), and creative director Jay Manuel. For roughly 20 cycles, the three added class, sass, and style to Tyra Banks’ show about the search for the next supermodel, until they were all fired in 2012 after plummeting ratings. Since then, they have all led their separate lives. UNTIL NOW.
Yesterday, both Manuel and Alexander posted Instagram photos of the trio together in New York, with cryptic references to a reunion. In Manuel’s photo of the three huddled over a laptop, he wrote, “#???? Yup this happened…the family is back together! @miss_jalexander @nigelbarker @mrjaymanuel#CanYouGuess?” Meanwhile, Alexander captioned his photo of the three of them walking with, “First there was Naomi , Linda, and Christy.? Now this Trio back together catwalking on New York City Streets can only mean one thing hmmmmmmmmmm…? Trouble..! Oh yeah”
Barker commented, “Reunited and it feels so… about time we brought the band back together don’t you think?”
There’s no news what the three are up to, but is it possible that the three are returning to the 24th cycle of America’s Next Top Model? It is, since show creator Banks is returning to the show after leaving the 23rd cycle (which Rita Ora hosted). For the 24th cycle, Banks is removing the 27 years old age limit for contestants.
However, VH1, which has been airing the series since 2016, has not commented on the photos.
